If you enjoy working outdoors and want to help keep our town looking great, we would love to hear from you. The Shire of Exmouth is looking for Labourers to join our team on a casual and permanent full-time basis.

Working with the Works team, you will help with a range of hands-on tasks that support the maintenance and improvement of roads, parks, and public spaces across the Shire. No previous experience is required – just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

What you’ll be doing
You will assist with general labouring tasks such as:

  • Road, footpath and kerb repairs

  • Paving, line marking and bitumen works

  • Drainage works

  • Fencing and safety barriers

  • Installing guide posts

  • Weed control and herbicide use

  • Tree maintenance

  • Looking after parks, gardens, street verges and recreation areas

A driver’s licence is preferred. Training will be provided for the right candidates.

What we offer
This position is classified as Level 5 under the Shire of Exmouth Industrial Agreement 2025 and entitlements include:

Casual

  • Hourly rate: $45.90 per hour (casual loading included)

  • Location allowance: $2,002 per year (pro rata)

Permanent full-time

  • Base salary: $72,558 per year ($36.72 per hour)

  • Housing allowance: $5,000 per year

  • Location allowance: $2,002 per year

  • 9-day fortnight roster

  • 5 weeks annual leave

  • Long service leave after 7 years (conditions apply)

Other

  • Up to 22% superannuation (includes co-contribution)

  • Uniform allowance

  • Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
