About our client
Our client is an established stone fabrication business based in Armadale, servicing both residential and commercial construction projects across Western Australia. Specialising in high-quality stone surfaces for kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and other interior applications, the business works with a range of natural and engineered stone products sourced from leading suppliers.

With a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality and continuous improvement, the business has built a reputation for delivering quality outcomes while investing in the development of future tradespeople. Apprentices are provided with structured training, hands-on experience and ongoing support to build their skills and progress towards a long-term trade career. The workshop is equipped with modern fabrication equipment, CNC machinery and systems designed to support safe and efficient production practices.

About the opportunity
This full-time apprenticeship will give you a pathway to complete a Certificate III in Stonemasonry over four years while learning through practical work and TAFE block release.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop tool-measuring and fabrication skills during the first 12 months
  • Follow toolbox talks, SWMS, PPE and dust suppression procedures
  • Learn cutting, shaping, polishing and finishing processes
  • Train on workshop machinery, including saws and CNC equipment
  • Progress towards independent trade capability over four years
You will assist qualified tradespeople with measuring, cutting, shaping, polishing, loading, unloading and moving stone materials. You will also learn to read plans, drawings and specifications, mix and apply adhesives and sealants, maintain tools and support daily production requirements. The role is suited to someone seeking a trade pathway, not a lateral move. Over three to five years, you can move from supervised tasks into machine operation, advanced fabrication, restoration techniques and project responsibility.

About you
We are looking for someone who wants to build a trade career through hands-on work, TAFE training and instruction from experienced tradespeople.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, Certificate III in Stonemasonry
  • Basic maths, measuring and reading skills
  • Driver's licence, due to early starts and the Armadale location
  • Hands-on experience in labouring, landscaping, tiling, concreting, carpentry, cabinet making or construction
  • Physical fitness for manual handling, loading and moving stone materials
  • Interest in tools, machinery, fabrication and production work
What's on offer
This role offers a trade pathway through a four-year apprenticeship, combining paid workplace training with formal TAFE learning. You will work from the Armadale production facility and learn from tradespeople who understand the business, equipment and production standards. The working hours support work-life balance, with early starts, early finishes and a shorter Friday.

You will gain exposure to fabrication machinery, CNC equipment, wet cutting processes, stone products and production workflow. The business has a record of training apprentices into qualified tradespeople and long-term team members, giving you the chance to build skills, take on more responsibility and work towards a trade career in stonemasonry.
