Stonemason (multiple positions)

Position Summary

A Stonemason is responsible for crafting, assembling, and installing stone products with precision and attention to detail. The role involves reading and interpreting plans, selecting appropriate materials and tools, and performing tasks such as cutting, shaping, polishing, and finishing stone to meet design specifications. Stonemasons also prepare adhesives to match stone colours, inspect completed work against production drawings, and carry out repairs when needed.

Topline Granite & Marble Pty Ltd is a stone fabrication business located in North Sunshine. We manufacture mineral surfaces and natural stone for any residential or commercial applications such as kitchens, bathrooms, entertaining and outdoor areas, reception areas, lobbies, offices and shops. Products we manufacture include bench tops, vanity tops, bath hobs, splash backs, fireplace surrounds and hearths, desktops, counter tops, and wall and floor cladding.

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Reading and interpreting plans/drawings

·         Determining the materials and equipment needed for a job at hand

·         Perform with a high level of quality craftsmanship: polishing, cutting and installing stone products

·         Preparation and mixing of glues to obtain the matching colour to the stone being produced.

·         Cutting and shaping stone to desired dimensions using cutting machinery and hand tools

·         Polishing and finishing of all stone once assembled, as required

·         Check that the assembled stone bench tops are completed as per the specified production drawings and rectifying any variances

·         Repairing any stone items requiring reworks, chipped and or cracked stone by utilising machinery and hand tools

·         Packing and cleaning the work area and tools prior to end of day.

 

Essential Requirements:

·         Minimum 3+ years of experience as a stonemason required

·         Ability to fabricate stone benchtops and other components as directed

·         Skilled in all aspects of stone fabrication

·         Proficient in using handheld power tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing stone
