We’re Steamatic North Queensland – a tight, local crew doing big things in the disaster recovery and restoration space. We clean up and restore homes and businesses after floods, fires, and mould damage — it’s hands-on, important work that really helps people.
Right now, we’re looking for a Labourer to join our team in Mackay. You don’t need experience — just a good attitude, a driver’s licence, and a willingness to learn. If you’re ready to build a career, we’ll train you up to become a fully qualified Water, Fire & Mould Restoration Technician.
Learn the ropes from a supportive crew
Use gear like dehumidifiers and air scrubbers
Remove water-damaged carpet, clean up mould, help out after fires
Pack up and clean people’s belongings
Use iPads to do basic job reports
Chat with clients — they’ll often be going through a tough time, so empathy is key
Start now – full-time hours + overtime available
Training paid for – become IICRC certified
All tools supplied – PPE, tablet
Supportive team – we’ve got your back
Variety – no two days the same

Full licence and clean driving record
Physically fit (able to lift 20kg)
A great attitude and team mindset
Attention to detail and basic tech skills (for using job apps)
Able to pass a police check and drug & alcohol testing
White Card (or able to get one)
Right to work in Australia
Have any cleaning, trade, or construction experience
Like a job where you’re on your feet and problem-solving
Can travel short-term for jobs out of town (we cover expenses)
