Are you a gun assembler who's ready to stop just doing the work and start leading it?

Metaltex Australia is after an experienced hands-on Assembler & Powder Coater to step up into a Leading Hand role on our floor. This isn't a desk job, you'll be on the tools alongside your team, setting the pace, sorting problems as they hit, and making sure jobs go out right the first time.

Basic familiarity with powder coating processes and techniques is desirable for this role..

If you know sheet metal, take pride in a clean finish, and people naturally look to you when things get busy, we want to talk.

What you'll be doing

You'll help run the day-to-day on the Assembly and Powder Coating floor, allocating jobs off the production plan, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the team to hit priorities and deadlines, and being the first port of call when someone needs a hand or something's not adding up.

You'll knock out first-off checks, flag any deviations to the Supervisor. Safety and quality are non-negotiable, so you'll lead by example on PPE, hazards and OH&S, and help bring new starters up to speed.

What you'll bring

• 3–4+ years in assembly operations (sheet metal experience is a big plus)

• General assembly experience from any manufacturing background

• The skills and attitude to step into a Leading Hand role, team-leading experience preferred

• A solid eye for quality, spec and drawing requirements

• A safety-first mindset and a knack for mentoring others

• Able to lift up to 20kg as needed

• Manufacturing background preferred

• Australian work rights at the time of application
